The Hotel
Hotel Amigo is a Rocco Forte property occupying a beautifully converted Renaissance building just off the Grand-Place. The 173 rooms are decorated with a mix of Belgian contemporary art and classic furnishings — each floor has a different character. The Ristorante Bocconi serves excellent Italian cuisine, and the bar is a favourite with Brussels locals. Location is the Amigo's trump card: the Grand-Place is a 1-minute walk, the Manneken Pis is 3 minutes, and the Sablon antiques district is 10 minutes.
The Casino
Casino de Bruxelles is located on Avenue de la Toison d'Or, about 15 minutes by taxi from the hotel. It's a modern casino in a commercial setting — less atmospheric than some European venues but well-run and with a full complement of games: European Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, and over 200 slot machines. The casino bar serves decent cocktails. Important: Belgium's minimum casino age is 21, strictly enforced with ID checks at the door.
