The Hotel
Hotel Kämp has been Helsinki's most prestigious address since 1887. The hotel occupies a landmark building on the Esplanadi — Helsinki's central boulevard — with 179 rooms that blend 19th-century grandeur with contemporary Nordic design. The Kämp Spa offers Finnish sauna experiences. The Brasserie Kämp serves French-Finnish cuisine in an original art nouveau dining room. The location is perfect: Senate Square, Design District, Market Square, and Casino Helsinki are all within walking distance.
The Casino
Casino Helsinki is the only full-scale casino in Finland, operated by Veikkaus (the state gaming monopoly). It's located on Mikonkatu, a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Entry is free — unusual for a European casino. Games include European Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, and approximately 300 slot machines. The casino has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and no dress code requirement (smart casual is appropriate). The casino restaurant and bar are surprisingly good.
